OnHand appoints Dorcas Harris as VP of Social Impact to drive global volunteering strategy

  • Harris brings a decade of experience in social impact across non-profits, government, and global development

  • The new hire strengthens OnHand’s leadership using deep cross-sector expertise in social impact and non-profit partnerships

London, 4 June 2025 - OnHand, the award-winning volunteering and social impact platform, has appointed Dorcas Harris as its first Vice President of Social Impact, a new role that will lead the company’s global strategy for non-profit partnerships, impact measurement, and employee engagement.

Harris joins from the UK Civil Service, where she held leadership positions in environmental policy, international trade, and portfolio management, driven by a career-long mission to bridge gaps between sectors.

Her incredible background and expertise have shaped her vision for scalable, equitable social impact and sustainability, with many global frontline experiences. This includes working for Teach for India in the Mumbai slums, refugee support charities, and addiction recovery non-profits. Harris is no stranger to handling crisis scenario at scale too, having worked on the Department for Culture, Music and Sport (DCMS) response to the COVID pandemic in 2020.

Dorcas Harris, VP of Social Impact at OnHand, says:

“What I love about OnHand is that it’s all about making volunteering accessible, meaningful, and measurable. So many companies want to make a difference, but don’t know where to start, especially as so many charities lack visibility and resources making engagement hard. OnHand removes those barriers, connecting companies and their employees with causes and charities they care about. I’m passionate about ensuring every opportunity we create aligns with global sustainable development goals and delivers real change, not just tick-box participation.”

Harris’ appointment marks a pivotal time for OnHand, as they enhance their global expansion. Harris intends to strengthen collaboration with non-profits worldwide to co-create meaningful volunteering missions, as well as define social impact metrics to elevate how OnHand tracks and communicates the collective difference of employees. She is also set on further bridging the corporate and charity worlds with culturally aware strategies, localised for international markets.

Sanjay Lobo, CEO and Founder of OnHand, says:

“Dorcas’ story is extraordinary. She has frontline experience in shaping policy, she's lived the challenges we try to solve every day. Her empathy, strategy and global perspective is exactly what OnHand needs to scale effectively. We’re doubling down on measurable impact, that’s both global and local. Dorcas will ensure the actions of every corporate volunteer worldwide translates to tangible impact. She will lead a team to democratise social impact, funnelling inspiration from her own journey.”

This is a full circle moment for Harris. She hoped to join OnHand in 2022 but paused to adopt her daughter, a decision fully supported by Lobo. As she says, ‘she treasures this opportunity with OnHand even more now’.
