Do More Miles - World Cup Edition

Move more this May with Do More Miles – our virtual charity fitness and wellbeing challenge – as we tour the world’s World Cup locations together!

We’re setting off on a global journey inspired by the upcoming World Cup, and every kilometre logged moves us further along the route. Choose your challenge distance then walk, run, cycle or wheel your way throughout May to complete it and earn a Do More Together medal. We’ve also built in optional fundraising to make it easy for you to support a local cause and help us do more for our communities.

Audio Book production

Where: Remotely

Charity: UICI

Record spoken books for blind and visually impaired people, after having carried out a short 2-hour online training, during which you will be educated on the use of software for audio recording, on the recording of audios usable by people with visual impairments, on breathing and the right posture for reading aloud. The only necessary requirement is to have a desktop PC or laptop and headphones with a microphone.

Study Support for children and young people

When: Tuesday 4pm to 6pm

Charity: WeWorld

Frequency 200 is a project against school dropout and educational poverty, which takes place in WeWorld's aggregation and informal education centers that integrate the educational work carried out by schools. The beneficiaries of this project are children aged 11-16 from peripheral contexts, socio-economic and cultural marginality, and the activity of the volunteers, depending on their personal skills, may include: dance/sports courses, study and homework support, English language course.

Support in a Family Home

Where: Casa Famiglia Ain Karim – Via Galla Placidia 63, Roma

When: Flexible - in line with the needs of the organisation

Charity: Fondazione Rava

Ain Karim is a volunteer organization that runs a "widespread family home". It works in favor of the mother-child nucleus when they are in a condition of discomfort, fragility and loneliness. It also has a facility for minors between 0 and 18 years old who have been removed from their families of origin.
The proposed activities support the maintenance of the structure (e.g., cleaning, gardening, repainting and more).

Empowerment Activities for vulnerable women

Where: Spazio Donna - Via Antonio Provolo 24/26, 00156 Roma

When: Thursday 3pm to 6pm

Charity: WeWorld

The Spazio Donna Program aims to increase women's empowerment as a primary way for the prevention and emergence of gender-based violence. The beneficiaries of this project are women in fragile conditions, both Italian and foreign, and the volunteer activity can include: recreational-recreational activities (p.es yoga, pilates), language courses (Italian, English), transfer of basic computer skills, or drafting and revision of CVs.

Support in a Family Home

Where: Casa L’infinito Abbraccio di Ema, Via Federico de Roberto 33 - Roma

Charity: Infinito Amore

It is easier to heal a happy child, and the project was born from this awareness by involving volunteers in supporting cancer children hosted at the Casa L'infinito Abbraccio di Ema, and their families.
Being in close contact with children, this volunteering requires ad hoc training; at the end of the course, it will be possible, in two shifts of two hours each, to volunteer with the children, either individually or with another colleague who has followed the same path.

Food recovery from the local market of Val Melaina

Where: Via Giovanni Conti, Roma or Via Giovanni Conti, Roma

When: Wednesday 1:30pm to 3pm

Charity: Recup

The main activity consists in the recovery of unsold fruit and vegetables in the various local markets in Rome, involving the beneficiaries in the action and thus creating active citizenship. The surplus is collected from the stalls and brought to the Recup space, the products are sorted between good and inedible, and the selected products are distributed to associations active in the area for the fight against poverty.

Creation of small objects for hospitalized children

Where: Remotely

Charity: Infinito Amore

Independently and remotely, you can create greeting cards or small objects, using recycled materials, following the instructions in the video tutorials available on the association's portal.
The cards and objects made will accompany the sweets that are donated in the solidarity campaigns for the oncohematology department of the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital. The creations made must be sent to the headquarters of the association on dates to be agreed.

Operating in the crypt of St. Paul’s Within the Walls Episcopal Church in the heart of Rome, Italy, the Joel Nafuma Refugee Center (JNRC) is a day center for refugees and asylum seekers to relax, learn, and receive advice in order to achieve their goals.

Since 1989, every day we have been collecting food and donating it to local partner organizations that help people and families in need in our country. Our daily work recovering surplus food is supported by the Gadda Law. Thanks to it, every day we save surplus food from waste from multiple donors in the agri-food chain and restore value to food that is still good.
