Do More Miles - World Cup Edition

Date: 1st - 31st of May

Move more this May with Do More Miles – our virtual charity fitness and wellbeing challenge – as we tour the world’s World Cup locations together!

We’re setting off on a global journey inspired by the upcoming World Cup, and every kilometre logged moves us further along the route. Choose your challenge distance then walk, run, cycle or wheel your way throughout May to complete it and earn a Do More Together medal. We’ve also built in optional fundraising to make it easy for you to support a local cause and help us do more for our communities.

Walking Month

Charity: Young Lives vs Cancer

Walking Month is a walking challenge dedicated to raising funds for social causes that truly matter.

This year, we are proud to support Young Lives vs Cancer, a UK charity dedicated to supporting children, young people (up to age 25) with cancer and their families. Their mission is to make sure every young person diagnosed with cancer and their family gets the emotional, practical, financial and tailored care they need from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. They offer families specialist social workers, alongside free accommodation near specialist treatment centres for the family to stay in.

GoodWork Interview Skills

Where: London Office - Room 3.13,

When: Tuesday 19th May, 10am to 4pm

Charity: GoodWork

Spend the day supporting young adults from marginalised communities to practise their interview skills. You don’t need lots of experience, just a friendly and encouraging manner!

Moo Canoes

Where: Poplar Union - 2 Cotall St, Poplar, London E14 6TL

When: Wednesday 3rd June, 11am to 4pm

Charity: Poplar HARCA and the East London Canal Access Network

Moo Canoes work with Thames 21, Poplar HARCA and the East London Canal Access Network, using their fleet to enhance and protect the waterways. London's Canals & Rivers are under constant threat from pollutants, litter & invasive species. Boats make rounding up litter fun and active, so why not sign-up to this fun litter pick on the water.

Run For a Cure

From world class marathons and half marathons to local 5ks, we’ve got places all over the world up for grabs in aid of Cure Leukaemia. London2Paris 2027

The Tour de France is returning to British soil in 2027, for the first time in The Tour 21 history, the team of amateur riders will begin their 3,500km journey on UK roads, taking on the full professional route just one week ahead of the professionals." Retail Support for Little Lives UK

Charity: Little Lives UK

Little Lives UK supports disadvantaged children through free mental health care, tech donations, and eco-friendly programs. They are always looking for volunteers to help in one of their charity shops, which are open seven days a week from 10 am - 6 pm, and on Sundays from 11 am - 5 pm They are generally flexible with volunteering commitments, so you can book in for hours that suit your availability.

Facilitating Drop-Off Points for Food Bank Aid

Food Bank Aid ensure that over 20,000 people each week - including 5,000 children - have access to culturally relevant and nutritious food, by distributing donated and purchased food, toiletries, and household goods to their network of 32 food banks based on the exact products they need each week. Their community-based volunteers play a vital role in their operations.

Kitchen Volunteer for The Manna Society

The Manna Society is a day center for homeless people and those in need. The Manna Society is looking for a kitchen volunteer to help out in their kitchen on a Saturday, ideally once a month on the 2nd or 3rd Saturday. Food Prep for Commonside Community Development Trust

The Commonside Trust is working to improve the lives and environment of people living in Merton. It does this by managing a community centre, running community events and a number of community development programmes.
