Do More Miles - World Cup Edition

Move more this May with Do More Miles – our virtual charity fitness and wellbeing challenge – as we tour the world’s World Cup locations together!

We’re setting off on a global journey inspired by the upcoming World Cup, and every kilometre logged moves us further along the route. Choose your challenge distance then walk, run, cycle or wheel your way throughout May to complete it and earn a Do More Together medal. We’ve also built in optional fundraising to make it easy for you to support a local cause and help us do more for our communities.

London2Paris 2027

The Tour 21 2027

The Tour de France is returning to British soil in 2027, for the first time in The Tour 21 history, the team of amateur riders will begin their 3,500km journey on UK roads, taking on the full professional route just one week ahead of the professionals." Meal Delivery for Citymeals on Wheels

Citymeals on Wheels has been serving homebound elderly New Yorkers since 1981. Volunteer to help with meal delivery and deliver nourishing meals and friendly greetings to homebound elderly New Yorkers. All prospective volunteers must apply, including two references. After applying, volunteers are required to attend an online orientation before beginning their volunteer work to ensure they understand the mission and their responsibilities.

Food Bank For New York City is the city's largest hunger-relief organization, dedicated to ending hunger by organizing food, information, and support for community survival and dignity. They provide over 1.2 billion free meals annually and serve more than 1,800 NYC charities. Their mission is to ensure that no New Yorker goes hungry.

Volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House in New York

Ronald McDonald House New York provides a home away from home for families of children undergoing cancer treatment. The organization offers a supportive environment, with lodging, meals, and other essential services to ease the challenges faced by these families. The National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI-NYC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental illness through education, support, and advocacy. They offer a variety of programs, including support groups, educational classes, and a helpline, to assist those impacted by mental health challenges. NAMI-NYC also engages in advocacy efforts to improve mental health services and reduce stigma associated with mental illness. Volunteers with NAMI-NYC can assist in a variety of roles, including facilitating support groups, providing educational outreach, and helping with events. These volunteer opportunities allow individuals to make a meaningful impact on the mental health community by offering support, information, and resources.

Participate in a food drive for City Harvest NYC

Charity: City Harvest NYC

City Harvest is New York City's first and largest food rescue organization, dedicated to rescuing nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it for free to those experiencing hunger. They serve nearly 1.3 million New Yorkers who are struggling to feed themselves and their families. Their efforts have led to an 82% increase in average monthly visits to food pantries and soup kitchens compared to pre-pandemic levels.

If you have a history of successfully handling dogs and a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of shelter pets, we invite you to join our team of amazing volunteers! Companion volunteers interact with our animals at the care center or at offsite events. There are four kinds of companion programs you can train for and are assigned to Dog Volunteers, Cat Volunteers, Rabbit Volunteers and Guinea Pig Volunteers.

Driving for the Coalition for the Homeless

Charity: Coalition for the Homeless

The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless individuals and families. The Coalition greatly appreciates your interest in volunteering and helping homeless New Yorkers. They currently have volunteer opportunities with their Grand Central Food Program. The Grand Central Food Program is the largest nightly mobile soup kitchen in the country delivering roughly 1,000 meals every night of the year at 22 stops around New York.

Help people care for their pets with Paws NY

PAWS NY is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping vulnerable New Yorkers, including older adults and individuals with disabilities or illnesses, care for their pets. Their Housecall Program offers on-site visits to provide essential services such as dog walking, litter maintenance, medication administration, and provision of food and water. This support enables clients to maintain their companionship with pets, which can be vital for emotional well-being.
