Do More Miles - World Cup Edition

Move more this May with Do More Miles – our virtual charity fitness and wellbeing challenge – as we tour the world’s World Cup locations together!

We’re setting off on a global journey inspired by the upcoming World Cup, and every kilometre logged moves us further along the route. Choose your challenge distance then walk, run, cycle or wheel your way throughout May to complete it and earn a Do More Together medal. We’ve also built in optional fundraising to make it easy for you to support a local cause and help us do more for our communities.

Run For a Cure

From world class marathons and half marathons to local 5ks, we’ve got places all over the world up for grabs in aid of Cure Leukaemia. London2Paris 2027

The Tour 21 2027

Have you got what it takes to ride one of the world’s most iconic cycling challenges?

The Tour de France is returning to British soil in 2027, for the first time in The Tour 21 history, the team of amateur riders will begin their 3,500km journey on UK roads, taking on the full professional route just one week ahead of the professionals." Also add at the bottom. "For the closest experience to a pro-cycling team that you will find, register your interest for the 2027 team. Limited free places available for Flutter colleagues to cycle four, seven or all 21 stages.

Help Out Granton Castle Walled Gardens

Where: EH5 1QB, United Kingdom

Charity: Granton Castle Walled Garden

The Friends of Granton Castle Walled Garden run four volunteer and two visitor sessions per week, alongside a wide range of seasonal workshops (wreath-making, eco-therapy, flower arranging, polytunnel building, tree planting, wassailing). The main volunteering sessions are on Mondays and Fridays, 11 am - 3 pm. Hours may vary depending on the time of year (March - October: 2 - 4 pm, Nov - Feb: 1 - 3 pm). No gardening experience is necessary!

Admin volunteers support our team with office duties such as greeting clients, data entry and client calls. If you have customer service/admin experience then this is the role for you! We ask that you are able to give approximately 2 days a month – we can be flexible in terms of which days you can do.

IT Support for Grassmarket Community Project

The Grassmarket Community Project is a community of over 500 people, working together to support positive changes in one another’s lives. You will help the Grassmarket Community Project team by assisting our Members IT Group with their computing skills. You must be confident in your own basic IT skills, exceptionally patient, and enjoy supporting people with a wide range of support and educational needs.

Volunteer in Walk The Walk's Office

Walk the Walk took its first steps in 1996 when just 13 women Power Walked the New York City Marathon in their bras to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Come and join the team of office volunteers! Many hands make light work and even just a little bit of your time can add up to a lot. They have a variety of roles across the office, including phone calls, mailouts, and counting items… in fact, each function of the office team is likely to need a hand from time to time!

Our UK Outreaches in London and Edinburgh started in 2016 in response to the growing number of people in food poverty in our local areas, Each group has been started and run locally either by people cooking in their own homes or using local, professional kitchen spaces lent by owners & our local authorities. Filling out this form registers your interest in volunteering ONLY and you will be contacted by our team when there is a need for volunteers in your area.

Craigmillar Hub Food Bank Centre Helper

Charity: Edinburgh Food Project

As the welcoming face of the foodbank you’ll be sociable, enjoy meeting people and able to offer friendly and caring support to those in crisis. At Craigmillar Hub they are offering a new style of food bank that offers more freedom of choice, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as access to a wide range of services. You’ll receive and check food vouchers, help people with their selections, and make refreshments for the people who visit the food bank.

South Queensferry Food Bank Centre Helper

Where: EH3 6NF, United Kingdom

Charity: Edinburgh Food Project

As the welcoming face of the food bank you’ll be sociable, enjoy meeting people and able to offer friendly and caring support to those in crisis. You’ll receive and check food vouchers, prepare food parcels and make refreshments for the people who visit the food bank. You’ll provide a listening ear and support people in accessing other services with compassion and dignity.

Coaching Volunteer for Smart Works

Smart Works is a dynamic, high profile and fast-growing UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for success at their job interview. Interview volunteers help clients prepare for their interview by focussing on their skills, their confidence and their presentation. You will need a background in HR, recruitment or senior management, and will need to be able to use everyday technology.

Donations Collector for Edinburgh Food Project

Where: EH11 3UY, United Kingdom

Charity: Edinburgh Food Project

The Edinburgh Food Bank transport team make sure that all of the donations are collected from supermarkets, schools, churches and workplaces. They bring the donations to the warehouse for checking and sorting by the warehouse volunteers and then they deliver the completed food parcels to the foodbank centres. Each team consists of a driver and a buddy, so you don’t necessarily have to be a driver to join this team. They are particularly looking for some extra help on Thursday mornings.

Food Prep for Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts

Charity: Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts

Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts turn surplus food into healthy meals for those who need them. Since April 2020, they have provided over 2 million meals free of charge. The Kitchen Assistant role involves helping the Head Chefs to prepare meals for their service users. Using surplus food, we reduce food waste and make healthy, tasty meals.
