Virtual/Remote Opportunity
The Million Step Tour
Date: 28 June - 20 July
Where: Wherever you are in the world!
Charity: Cure Leukaemia
Show your support for the riders of The Tour 21 by joining this year’s virtual challenge – The Million Step Tour.
Create your team (max. 5 people from anywhere in the world) and commit to walk as a team, 1,000,000 steps over three weeks. You don’t have to just walk, running and cycling is also allowed. You will be able to see your team progress across the Tour de France route and track yourself against other teams from across Flutter. And no challenge is the same without prizes, so sign up today and take on The Million Step Tour!
Atlanta
Homelessness Compassion Outreach
Where: Atlanta
Charity: United Way of Greater Atlanta
Homelessness Compassion Outreach is a weekly outreach to build relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness and to provide meals, hygiene products, and clothing. Every Thursday evenings, volunteers gather for a brief time of training to learn more about homelessness, the outreach and what to expect. The team then travels together in a Frontline Response van to engage with individuals who face the everyday struggle of survival on the streets in and around Metro Atlanta and Dekalb County areas.
Edinburgh
Donations Collector for Edinburgh Food Project
Where: Edinburgh
Charity: Edinburgh Food Project
The Edinburgh Food Bank transport team make sure that all of the donations are collected from supermarkets, schools, churches and workplaces. They bring the donations to the warehouse for checking and sorting by the warehouse volunteers and then they deliver the completed food parcels to the foodbank centres. Each team consists of a driver and a buddy, so you don’t necessarily have to be a driver to join this team. They are particularly looking for some extra help on Thursday mornings.

Coaching Volunteer for Smart Works
Where: Glasgow
Charity: Smart Works
Smart Works is a dynamic, high profile and fast-growing UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for success at their job interview. Interview volunteers help clients prepare for their interview by focussing on their skills, their confidence and their presentation. You will need a background in HR, recruitment or senior management, and will need to be able to use everyday technology.
Los Angeles
Food Prep for Downtown Women's Centre
Where: Los Angeles
Charity: Downtown Women's Centre
The Downtown Women’s Center is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women and gender diverse individuals experiencing homelessness. DWC’s Kitchen served over 260,000 meals in 2020 alone: their incredible Kitchen team serves three nutritious meals seven days a week and offers an important space for women to connect and share a meal. Kitchen volunteers help with meal preparation (e.g. chopping and measuring); help keep the kitchen clean and organized (e.g. wiping counters, organizing the food pantry and cabinets); and serve delicious meals to participants.
New York
Volunteer for Mental Health With NAMI
Where: New York
Charity: NAMI
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI-NYC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental illness through education, support, and advocacy. They offer a variety of programs, including support groups, educational classes, and a helpline, to assist those impacted by mental health challenges. NAMI-NYC also engages in advocacy efforts to improve mental health services and reduce stigma associated with mental illness. Volunteers with NAMI-NYC can assist in a variety of roles, including facilitating support groups, providing educational outreach, and helping with events. These volunteer opportunities allow individuals to make a meaningful impact on the mental health community by offering support, information, and resources.

New Jersey
Warehouse On-Site Volunteer for Food Bank of South Jersey
Where: New Jersey
Charity: Food Bank of South Jersey
Volunteers may assist with Packing and Sorting donated food with projects including assembling boxed food for the Senior Program and repacking donated food for agency delivery. These opportunities take place in the Food Bank of South Jersey Warehouse.
Portland
Community Gardening for NAYA Family Centre
Where: Portland
Charity: Native American Youth and Family Centre
Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA)'s mission is to enhance the diverse strengths of their youth and families in partnership with the community through cultural identity and education. NAYA’s Community Garden thrives with the support of volunteers and volunteer groups.
