Do More Miles - World Cup Edition

Date: 1st - 31st of May

Move more this May with Do More Miles – our virtual charity fitness and wellbeing challenge – as we tour the world’s World Cup locations together!

We’re setting off on a global journey inspired by the upcoming World Cup, and every kilometre logged moves us further along the route. Choose your challenge distance then walk, run, cycle or wheel your way throughout May to complete it and earn a Do More Together medal. We’ve also built in optional fundraising to make it easy for you to support a local cause and help us do more for our communities.

What started as an internal challenge for Betfair Romania Development employees has now grown into a record-breaking community movement. Across participating locations, colleagues are invited to take as many steps as possible, build healthy habits, connect with one another, and support meaningful local causes. Walking Month is all about moving with purpose - for wellbeing, for connection, and for positive impact in the communities we are part of.

Receive an educational talk about the work the charity does before helping on the grounds, feeding and walking the animals while upport their basic needs.

Community Litter Pick

Charity: National society for the prevention of cruelty to animals

Join us as we attempt to assist our local community to Go Zero.  Together, we'll be taking a walk around our office area and along the beautiful Dodder river to clean up these outdoor spaces. It's a great opportunity to make a real difference for our local community and to our local nature habitats, creating a healthier, more sustainable environment that everyone can enjoy.  Not available between 1pm and 2pm? Don't worry, all supplies will be available in reception all week for you to drop down at a time that suits you best.

Charity: Back Into Daylight Animal Sanctuary

We’re excited to spend the day volunteering with Back into Daylight, a beautiful sanctuary giving farmed and domestic animals a safe, loving forever home while promoting compassion and vegan values. A quick heads-up: sanctuary life is hands-on and can get a little messy (in the best way!). Please come prepared with old clothes and sturdy shoes you don’t mind getting dirty — it’s all part of the experience

Gardeners Needed for Friends of Green Spaces

Where: D02, Ireland

Charity: Friends of Green Spaces

Friends of Green Spaces is committed to continuously enhancing community gardens to provide residents with even more opportunities to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of nature. They are looking for volunteers to help them maintain their community garden, which is part of 3 gardens in the Verschoyle Complex. Tasks include planting, sowing, weeding, watering, cleaning and painting. No experience is necessary and all skill levels are welcome.

Walking Group Volunteer with Making Connections

Where: D14, Ireland

Charity: Making Connections

Making Connections’ mission is to alleviate loneliness and isolation by providing Befriending and Wellbeing Supports that empower people to stay healthy and socially connected. They run a walking group on Wednesdays in Churchtown and are looking for volunteers to support the group with ensuring the safety of participants, encouraging social interactions and making sure each session runs smoothly.

Charity: Dublin Simon Community

Dublin Simon Community works to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin and surrounding counties by providing services at all stages of homelessness, helping people find a place to call home. They also organize fundraising events like hikes and festivals to support their life-saving services for those experiencing homelessness

Help Out at The Airfield Community Garden

Where: D14, Ireland

Charity: Airfield Estate

The Airfield Community Garden is a shared community space for people to come together and learn about sustainable food production, meet with like-minded people, and get their hands dirty helping in the garden and with the harvest of food crops. Volunteering at the community garden will be managed by Friends of Airfield. There is a core group of founding members including Tracy-Jane Merry, Barbara Hadden, and John O’Sullivan, with input from Airfield Estate.

Foster Kitty Visitors needed!

Where: D08, Ireland

Charity: Cat and Dog Protection Association of Ireland

The Cat & Dog Protection Association of Ireland is an animal charity dedicated to reducing the suffering of cats and dogs in Ireland through our rescue, fostering and Trap-Neuter-Return, community outreach and welfare programmes. As a Foster Kitty Visitor, you will visit fosterers in their homes to assess kitties that are not improving or fosters who need guidance.

In-House Service Volunteer for Little Flower

Where: 11 Meath Street, Dublin 8 D08 AC91, Ireland

Charity: Little Flower

Little Flower is a non-profit organisation that has been assisting anyone in need in the Liberties area of Dublin for over a century. Every Monday to Friday they serve a warm meal on their premises and they also prepare all the meals from scratch in-house. For this volunteering role, you can help out with serving food to guests, clearing tables and returning crockery/cutlery to the kitchen for washing as well as helping out with cleaning the dining area.

Social Club Volunteer for FOTEI

Where: D01, Ireland

Charity: Friends of the Elderly Ireland

Friends of the Elderly is an Irish volunteer based charity established in 1980 to bring friendship and companionship to older people living alone or who feel lonely. As part of their extensive programme of activities, they host social events here in Bolton Street, Dublin 1. These events are held during the day typically Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It is an opportunity for members to meet and enjoy music, dancing and friendship.

London2Paris 2027

The Tour de France is returning to British soil in 2027, for the first time in The Tour 21 history, the team of amateur riders will begin their 3,500km journey on UK roads, taking on the full professional route just one week ahead of the professionals."
