Katharine House Hospice

About the charity:
Katharine House Hospice’s aim is to enable patients with life limiting conditions to live life as fully as possible and make the most of the time that they have, as well as supporting their loved ones.
Our care is free and provided where and when it is needed most – in the community, at home, or at our hospice.
Volunteering activity:
We offer flexible volunteering options based on your availability, with gardening as the most popular choice. Volunteers help maintain a welcoming space for patients and families, tackling tasks such as planting, pruning, sweeping, sorting, and painting—a hands-on way to support the environment and make a meaningful contribution.
House of Bread
Where: House of Bread, 43 Browning Street, Stafford, ST16 3AX, UK
Days: Monday - Friday
Participants: 1-15 participants
About the charity:
This charity provides hot meals, clean clothes, toiletries, and a warm, safe space for all vulnerable people in Stafford.
Volunteering activity:
Depends on what the needs are for the charity at that time, but previous activities have included sorting donations and moving stock.
Bread and Butter Thing
Where: Unit 1 , Oldfields Court, Galveston Grove, Fenton. Stoke-On-Trent, ST4 3ES
Days: Monday - Friday
Participants: 2-15 participants
About the charity:
Our award-winning project is created using high quality surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. We build bridges out of food deserts, bringing nutritious, affordable food to the centre of the UK’s most deprived communities and nourish them.
Volunteering activity:
Volunteer tasks vary depending on the charity’s current needs. Previous activities have included sorting donations and moving stock, offering a practical, hands-on way to support day-to-day operations while helping the organisation run smoothly and make a real difference in the community.
Cards for Bravery
Where: In Office
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: 2 hour session
Participants: unlimited participants
About the charity:
Cards for Bravery is a charity dedicated to brightening the days of hospitalised and seriously ill children mainly through the distribution of handmade cards. This makes a huge difference to these children through their most tough and isolating times.
Volunteering activity:
Bring your team together for a creative session making cards for seriously ill children. Hosted in the office with all materials provided, volunteers craft heartfelt cards that are sent to Cards for Bravery, spreading joy and support to hospitals across the UK while making a meaningful, positive impact.
Litter Pick
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: 3 hour session
Participants: 2-15 participants
Volunteering activity:
Step out of the office and tackle local litter as a team! Volunteers clean up green spaces or other areas, with OnHand providing all necessary equipment and route guidance. It’s a practical, hands-on way to improve the community, strengthen teamwork, and make a visible, positive impact.
The Albrighton Trust
Where: The Albrighton Trust, Blue House Lane, Albrighton, WV7 3FL
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: 9 am - 5 pm
Participants: 1-12 participants
About the charity:
The Albrighton Trust, Moat and Gardens provides a range of educational and recreational activities tailored specifically for individuals with physical and learning disabilities, ill-health, or any other challenges. Our ethos is one of inclusivity and support, ensuring that everyone, irrespective of their capabilities, is welcomed with open arms.
Volunteering activity:
Volunteers can get stuck into a variety of seasonal tasks, from gardening to painting, depending on the weather and current priorities. It’s a flexible, hands-on way to support the site, enjoy the outdoors, and contribute to maintaining and improving the space throughout the year.
