Share you own career journey along with any curveballs along the way, share top tips with young people for moving from the world of education into the world of work, share employer expectations, provide an insight into the variety of roles available in the sector the volunteer works in, be willing to answer questions posed by the young people.
Outreach volunteer for Sussex Homeless Project
Task Type: Group Club Support
Charity: Sussex Homeless Project
Sussex Homeless Support is a registered Brighton-based charity. They provide support, advice, and outreach to people suffering housing crisis in Sussex. Their outreach project is held at the Old Steine in central Brighton. If you wish to volunteer, then there is no need to register your interest, simply turn up on a Saturday at the Old Steine at 1 pm and you can start by helping them unload the van.

We have almost 90 charity shops across the UK that are run with volunteers. As a volunteer you can help to create eye-catching window displays and even give up-cycling a go. Volunteering in our shops is easy and flexible. Most shops just ask you to do a regular few hours per week. Your availability is something we will discuss once you've applied.

Dog Walking with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
Task Type: Supporting Animals
Charity: Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a UK charity which trains dogs to alert deaf people to a variety of sounds. Their Hearing Dogs work very hard for their recipients, alerting them to everyday sounds and accompanying them when out and about. As the dogs work very hard they must get some time off, having fun whilst being exercised. Hearing Dogs are exercised by their recipient but sometimes due to ill health or old age, a partnership may need additional support from a local volunteer dog walker.
