Housing Works
Task Type: Charity Shop
Thrift Shops:
• Merchandising & Display: Arrange items to create eye-catching displays.

City Harvest NY
Task Type: Donation Soriting
Much of the food that City Harvest procures through partnerships with farmers and wholesalers arrives in large capacity containers, which can be challenging to distribute equitably. Help us take thousands of pounds of produce and repack it from large, bulk containers into smaller, family-sized units that community food programs can easily distribute to their clients.

Large Group On-Site Warehouse Experience:
- Hands on, in-person team building experience
- 3-hour customized group experience in dedicated space
- Group size up to 25 participants (all volunteers must be over 18 years old)
- Get your team involved in a range of ways from sorting donated clothing, sizing and shelving to creating kits
Food Bank For New York City
Task Type: Food Bank
Join us at our warehouse and distribution center to support some of our highest-impact initiatives including packing meal boxes for seniors and sorting donated food.
Grow NYC
Task Type: Garderning
An average in-person volunteer day includes activities such as:
- Building garden infrastructure like raised beds, picnic tables, and benches
- Spreading topsoil, mulch, or compost;
- Planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables;
- Painting garden signs.
The Bowery Mission
Task Type: Meal Prep & Sorting
Meal Prep:
With the help of thousands of volunteers, we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner across multiple campuses to those in need every day of the year. Tasks may also include assisting with light meal prep, clearing tables, and sweeping the floors to ensure a clean and welcoming space.
Clothing Room:
Tasks include organizing, cleaning, sorting through donations, and preparing orders for men and women who rely on our emergency services. This is a great opportunity to directly serve our community and ensure guests receive the essentials they need with dignity and care. As our staff work around the clock to continue services, volunteers are an incredible support!
