Lifeafterhummus
Task Type: Team Mission
Spend the day with us under the guidance of our coordinators and volunteers, gaining hands-on experience in waste prevention while directly supporting the local community.
What to expect:
Collect surplus food from nearby stores on foot using hand carts.
Sort and organise supplies once back at the centre.
Assist with general tasks, including light cleaning and keeping the workspace tidy.
Replenish pre-loved clothing at our passive clothing rails in the local library.
Redistribute surplus items on foot to nearby hostels and community partners.
It’s a rewarding and active day where you’ll learn practical sustainability skills, meet like-minded people, and make a meaningful contribution to reducing waste and helping others.
London Wildlife Trust
Task Type: Wildlife
Your day will be hosted by a first-aid trained member of staff, who will begin with a health and safety briefing and provide ongoing supervision throughout the session.
The main activity offered for corporate volunteering days is practical conservation work, known as our Wild Workdays. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity for team building, connecting with nature, and making a meaningful contribution to urban conservation efforts across London.
Activities vary depending on the season and the habitat—as we manage a diverse range of environments, including wetlands, woodlands, meadows, and grasslands. Tasks might include cutting back invasive species, meadow or shrub management, reedbed cutting, or path maintenance.
Every Wild Workday offers the chance to learn new skills, work together outdoors, and support the protection of London’s natural spaces.
Give Me Love Charity Shop
Task Type: Charity Shop
Tasks may include a variety of activities to help keep our shop running smoothly and looking its best. These can involve:
Rail management: checking all clothing rails for colour and category coordination, sorting new donations, assisting with recycling bags, pricing and tagging garments, restocking throughout the day, steaming and ironing, and maintaining tidy six-foot rails.
Display and presentation: preparing freebie boxes, pricing books and bric-a-brac, creating attractive window displays, and dressing mannequins.
Creative and organisational tasks: tidying the bric-a-brac section, cutting out images from old magazines for fitting room collages, and optional sewing projects.
Seasonal and promotional support: creating hampers for Christmas raffles and for the elderly, laminating sales notices, and handing out flyers in local community areas.
General housekeeping: hoovering, sweeping outside areas, mopping the entrance, cleaning windows, and dusting shop furniture.
These varied tasks offer a great mix of creative, practical, and community-focused activities, ensuring every volunteer can get involved and make a meaningful contribution.
Kentish Town Food Bank
Task Type: Food Bank
The team will be involved in a range of hands-on tasks, including receiving deliveries, carrying and sorting food items into designated crates, and packing supplies in preparation for the following week’s foodbank session.
At the end of the day, volunteers will also help with tidying and organising the space, ensuring everything is clean, orderly, and ready for the next session.
These activities play a key role in helping us provide essential support to individuals and families in need.

Freightliners City Farm
