Crisis provides services for people facing homelessness across Great Britain 365 days of the year.
Volunteering activity:
Jump into warehouse life with a variety of hands-on tasks! From stock taking and organising to preparing for incoming donations or even helping build office spaces, every activity supports smooth operations. After an induction, the team matches tasks to your skills, making it a practical, collaborative day with real impact.
Freightliners City Farm

About the charity:
Freightliners City Farm is an urban farm located in Lower Holloway in the London Borough of Islington. It is the only urban farm in the borough. The City Farm movement provides opportunities for young people in an urban environment to see and interact with creatures they would not otherwise see.
Volunteering activity:
Get hands-on with a mix of fun and practical tasks! Take on the Muck Heap Challenge, help with paint stripping and prep, or get gardening—watering, mowing, weeding, and repairing beds. A hands-on way to work together, get outdoors, and make a real difference in the space.
Give Me Love Charity Shop

About the charity:
Charity shop in Camden Town selling vintage and pre-loved clothes, music and more. Raising funds for Food For All UK. Food For All provides warm and nutritious meals to those in need both in London and around the world.
Volunteering activity:
Get stuck into a variety of fun, hands-on tasks in our shop! From sorting rails, tagging, and steaming clothes to preparing hampers, dressing mannequins, tidying bric-a-brac, and sprucing up the store, every bit of effort helps keep the shop welcoming and supports the community.
Kentish Town Food Bank

About the charity:
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Volunteering activity:
Join the team to keep the foodbank running smoothly! You’ll help receive deliveries, carry and sort food into crates, pack for upcoming sessions, and tidy up at the end. A hands-on way to support your community and make a real, practical difference.
Lifeafterhummus

About the charity:
Lifeafterhummus operates a social supermarket, re-use centre and redistribution network for local residents and redistributes 5T of surplus food per month to 11 local hostels, 1 local after-school club, 1 faith group and 80 local families.
Volunteering activity:
Join us for a hands-on day supporting your local community and fighting waste. Collect surplus from nearby stores, sort supplies, help with light tasks, restock pre-loved clothing, and redistribute donations to local hostels—all under the guidance of our friendly coordinators and volunteers. Learn, contribute, and make a real impact.
London Wildlife Trust

London Wildlife Trust is the only charity that champions nature’s recovery in London. As a grassroots movement, we are firmly embedded in London’s local communities, where we look after wild places and increase people’s understanding of and connection to the natural world. We engage, inspire and enable people to connect with nature and are resolute in our ambition to reverse the declines in nature.
Volunteering activity:
Join a Wild Workday, led by a first-aid trained staff member, for a safe and engaging corporate volunteering experience. Tackle practical conservation tasks like habitat management, invasive species control, and path upkeep. Connect with your team, enjoy London’s green spaces, and make a meaningful impact on urban nature.
Moo Cannoes

About the charity:
We work with Thames 21, Poplar HARCA and the East London Canal Access Network (ELCAN CIC), using the fleet to enhance and protect the waterways. We've also helped found two community action groups, The Lower Regent's Coalition and Friends of the Cut - there are regular friendly events and both welcome new volunteers.
Volunteering activity:
Get on the water with our stable, beginner-friendly canoes, kayaks, or paddle boards and help clear litter while spotting wildlife. From small groups at Limehouse Basin to larger teams at Poplar Union, enjoy a safe, guided experience. Half- or full-day options make volunteering active, fun, and wildlife-friendly.
Refettorio Felix

About the charity:
Refettorio Felix is a drop-in centre and community kitchen serving vulnerable people in Earl's Court and beyond. St Cuthbert’s Centre is a registered charity that has operated as a day centre in Earl’s Court for people in need for over 30 years. In 2017, it was transformed into Refettorio Felix at St Cuthbert’s through a collaboration with Chef Massimo Bottura’s non-profit, Food for Soul, becoming the first Refettorio outside of Italy. With this came a shift in our ethos, developing a greater focus on hospitality and restaurant-quality food, often delivered by renowned guests chefs, as well as an expansion of our additional support services. We also then began our partnership with The Felix Project, whose regular donations of rescued surplus food supply our kitchen with the ingredients to create varied, nutritious meals for our guests each day.
Volunteering activity:
Volunteers arrive at 11:00 for a brief induction, then help set tables with cutlery, napkins, and water. Guests arrive at 12:00 with drinks served, followed by a three-course lunch at 12:30. Volunteers assist with dietary needs, clearing tables, and tidying up, finishing with an optional group meal at 1:30.
The Children's Book Project

About the charity:
The Children’s Book Project is a registered charity. We work with settings across the UK to redistribute thousands of new and gently used books to children and their families.
Volunteering activity:
Join our social, hands-on sessions sorting and packing children’s book donations for local schools. Activities involve standing, bending, and lifting, but seated options are available. We provide safety briefings and trolleys, and encourage volunteers to share any medical needs or preferences to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.

Hackney City Farm offers educational programs for young people, providing vocational skills in animal husbandry, horticulture, and more, within a farm environment. Volunteering activity:
Our team action days blend hands-on work with learning. Get stuck into activities like pond digging, fence repairs, stable building, gardening, seed sowing, compost turning, beekeeping, tree planting, and more. Perfect for teams looking to connect, contribute, and gain practical skills while making a real difference in the environment.

About the charity:
Little Village makes a big difference to families with babies and young children living in poverty across London.
Volunteering activity:
Spend the day with Little Village learning about our mission before getting hands-on helping families. Volunteers sort, quality-check, and organise donations of clothes and toys for children in need. These sessions are perfect for team-building, giving colleagues a chance to connect while making a meaningful impact in the community.
Age UK Lewisham & Southwark: Healthy Living and Learning Centre

The Healthy Living Centre service is an open access centre for older people providing a wide range of services, learning, physical and social opportunities.
Volunteering activity:
The Healthy Living & Learning Centre is lively and welcoming, with Drum & Bass exercise on Mondays and Pom Pom sessions on Fridays. Volunteers can socialise with over-50 visitors, join classes and events, play board games, reminisce, or provide tech support—making it a fun, engaging way to give back.
Age UK Lewisham & Southwark: Stones End Day Centre

About the charity:
The Stones End Day Centre provides a day care service for older people living in Southwark, supporting people with dementia and vulnerable people. The centre is a 5 minute walk from Elephant & Castle.
Volunteering activity:
At our day centre, members enjoy door-to-door transport, hot meals, and activities that boost mental and physical wellbeing. Volunteers help prepare for arrivals, then support and socialise with members during arts & crafts, bingo, singing, or seated exercise—creating a friendly, engaging environment that makes a real difference in their day.
Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank

About the charity:
We here at Kensington & Chelsea Foodbank provide 3 days emergency food. All the food we are given is donated from local people and organisations. We only give out non-perishable food. A range of professionals from various organisations in Kensington & Chelsea issue vouchers to clients in need. We have Citizen's Advice in on sessions giving support and guidance to those on Universal Credit.
Volunteering activity:
The day starts with a 15-minute manual handling briefing before volunteers begin. Tasks include assisting with food deliveries, unpacking items, and preparing food parcels and toiletries bags for clients. It’s a hands-on, rewarding way to support the community while learning safe handling practices.
Stepney City Farm

About the charity:
Stepney City Farm is a 4.5 acre working farm; a rural oasis, in the heart of Tower Hamlets. Visiting the farm is one of many unique and fun free things to do in London.
Volunteering activity:
Farm Operations days offer hands-on, seasonal tasks essential to running the farm. Volunteers might dredge ponds, turn and bag compost, mulch, spread wood chips, sow seeds, plant bulbs, pot on plants, harvest crops, or rake and reseed fields. A varied, practical way to get involved and support farm life.
The Phoenix Garden

About the charity:
The Phoenix Garden is Located in St Giles behind the Phoenix Theatre, within the London Borough of Camden, nestled between the busy Soho and Covent Garden areas.
Volunteering activity:
Your team can get hands-on in the garden with practical tasks like cutting back plants, watering, and weeding. Help maintain benches by sanding and applying wood preserver, or get creative by making garden signage. A perfect way to work together, improve the space, and leave a lasting impact.
Hackney Parks

Hackney has 58 parks and green spaces totalling 282 hectares. Our green spaces range from the largest concentration of football pitches in Europe at Hackney Marshes to the beautiful and historic settings of Springfield Park and Clissold Park.
Volunteering activity:
Get hands-on with a variety of outdoor tasks, from litter picking and painting benches or railings to gardening, tree care, and habitat building. Tasks may vary depending on the site, offering a flexible, practical way for teams to make a visible, positive impact on the local environment.
Vaxuhall City Farm

About the charity:
Vauxhall City Farm is a central London education charity and city farm that offers free entry and provides a range of educational, horticultural, and recreational workshops, volunteering opportunities, and community events, attracting over 60,000 visitors annually. Its programmes use animal care and urban farming to support children and disadvantaged people, promote wellbeing, environmental awareness, and community cohesion, particularly serving the diverse and deprived communities of Lambeth and surrounding boroughs.
Volunteering activity:
Lend a hand on the farm with big, practical tasks we can’t manage alone. Help build animal enclosures, plant for the new season, or give the farm a fresh look with redecoration. A hands-on way to support farm life while making a real, visible difference.

Improving the physical and mental well-being of Camden residents with Mother Nature’s help since 1984.

Past volunteer projects include planting bulbs, painting benches, and creating a wildflower garden—making it a practical, rewarding way to enhance outdoor spaces and leave a lasting, positive impact.
Cards for Bravery

About the charity:
Cards for Bravery is a charity dedicated to brightening the days of hospitalised and seriously ill children mainly through the distribution of handmade cards. This makes a huge difference to these children through their most tough and isolating times.
Volunteering activity:
Bring the team together for a creative session making cards for seriously ill children. Hosted in the office with all materials provided, volunteers craft heartfelt cards that are then sent to Cards for Bravery, spreading joy to hospitals across the UK and making a meaningful difference.
