At Vax, we're committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work. Through our partnership with OnHand, you can discover and take part in meaningful volunteering opportunities that support local charities, community groups and environmental initiatives.
As part of our commitment to giving back, all Vax colleagues are eligible to take part in our volunteering programme and can request up to 8 hours of paid volunteering time each financial year for approved Vax-led group volunteering activities. Opportunities can be completed as either a full day or two half days, helping colleagues support causes they care about while building new skills and experiences.
For individual volunteering opportunities, these will need to be taken outside of working hours but can be logged on your On Hand account.

If you are already volunteering in any form, such as making monthly donations, helping as a school governor or supporting your local community, then add your volunteering to the OnHand platform to get recognised on the Vax leaderboard and earn hero points.

All Vax colleagues can request up to 8 hours of paid volunteering time each financial year for approved group volunteering activities. This can be taken as either a full day or split into two half days, depending on the volunteering opportunity and business needs.
Individual activities will need to be taken outside of working hours.
All Volunteering requests must be approved by your manager and HR before attendance is confirmed.

Once registered, you'll be able to browse available activities, sign up for events, track your volunteering contributions and see the impact being made by colleagues across the business.

We welcome suggestions that align with our commitment to supporting local communities, environmental sustainability and charitable causes. The team can help assess opportunities and coordinate arrangements where appropriate.

All volunteering opportunities should be booked through OnHand.
Before attending, you should obtain approval from your manager and HR. Once you've taken part, your volunteering activity and hours can be recorded through the platform, helping Vax track participation and measure the positive impact we're making together.

No. Approved group volunteering activities can be completed using your 8 hours of paid volunteering allowance each financial year. If you choose to volunteer beyond this allowance, you should discuss options with your manager.
