Dog Walking for Manchester Dog Home

Task Type: Animal Support

Charity: Manchester Dog Home

Manchester & Cheshire Dogs' Home is a charity for re-homing stray and abandoned dogs. They are always looking for volunteers who can help with dog walking. This involves taking the dogs for walks on the lead, in the public green space near their site. Playing with the dogs off-lead in our secure areas. This role starts from from 10 am.

They will ask you about your availability. Anyone can apply for casual dog walking, but regular attendance is better for the charity and more fulfilling for the volunteer, as you can build skills and become part of a team. From time to time there may be specific requirements for certain hours, days and levels of commitment.

Magic Maker for Make a Smile

Task Type: Club/Group Support

Charity: Make a Smile

Make a Smile seeks to take children's minds away from hardship they may face and, through the medium of play and fun, allow them to enjoy themselves as children.

Magic Makers attend events out of character, often act as supporting staff, play games, chat to and interact with children, and assist characters at events. This can be a jumping pad to being a character volunteer!
