Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation

About the charity:
Jack and Jill is a children's charity providing support for children with neurodevelopmental delay in Ireland.
Volunteering activity:
There is 18 Charity Boutiques across Ireland that rely on the support of volunteers to help with sorting donations, merchandising, and engaging with the local community. Volunteering in one of our boutiques is a fantastic opportunity for team bonding, while also contributing directly to the lives of children in need and promoting sustainability.
Flossie & The Beach Cleaners
Where: Dublin Bay
Days: Monday - Friday
Participants: 20-50 participants
About the charity:
Flossie and the Beach Cleaners is a registered marine environmental charity and an ever-growing group of marine enthusiasts.
Volunteering activity:
Comb through the seaweed and observe the beach in detail for tiny bits of plastic and broken-down fragments of items that would be otherwise eaten by marine life.
Friends of the Elderly Ireland
Where: 25 Bolton Street, Dublin, D01 V6H9
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: 9.30 am - 1 pm; 1.30 - 5 pm; 10 am - 4 pm

About the charity:
Friends of the Elderly Ireland is an Irish, non-profit, volunteer-based organisation committed to providing a wide range of social programmes for older people.
Volunteering activity:
Volunteer at a charity shop in Friends of the Elderly’s premises here in Bolton Street, called Ritzy Rags. They are always looking for volunteers to come in and spend a day sorting, packing and reorganising our stock.
St Anne’s City Farm
Where: All Saints Rd, Raheny, Dublin, D05 R8P7
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: 10 am - 2 pm
Participants: 1-25 participants
About the charity:
Run by volunteers set within the boundaries of a busy city park, 'St. Anne's City Farm' is home to 2 Pigs, 10 Chickens, 3 Goats, 3 Guinea Pig, 3 Rabbits and Moses the Pony.
It is also the site of raised beds, a herb garden, and a wooden cabin. They promote holistic education with a program that includes mindfulness, animal therapy and nurturing the whole child - helping children to connect with nature.
Volunteering activity:
They offer a hands-on workday experience supporting their rescued and rehomed animals. Participants take part in a variety of practical tasks that contribute to the care and wellbeing of the animals and the upkeep of the site. Activities typically include cleaning and maintaining stables, working in the chicken area, and grooming sheep and donkeys. The day also involves light work within the allotments, along with a guided tour of the growing spaces. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided throughout the day, ensuring a welcoming and well-supported experience.
Capuchin Day Centre
Where: 29 Bow Street, Dublin 7, D07 HP7Y, Ireland
Days: Monday - Friday
Participants: 5-7 participants
About the charity:
The Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin, founded in 1969, provides daily hot meals, weekly food parcels, medical and hygiene services, clothing, and family support to people experiencing homelessness or food poverty, serving around 350 breakfasts, 700 dinners, and distributing over 1,450 food parcels each week. Guided by the values of dignity, respect, and non-judgemental support, the Centre welcomes all guests on a “no questions asked” basis and is committed to ensuring no one goes hungry.
Volunteering activity:
Helping with meal services involves supporting the preparation and delivery of meals in a calm, organised environment. This may include assisting with basic food preparation, setting up serving areas, and ensuring meals are presented and served safely and respectfully. The role also supports creating a welcoming atmosphere for those accessing the service, contributing to a positive and dignified dining experience.
DSPCA
Where: DSPCA Campus, Mount Venus Road, Rathfarnham, D16 F9C4
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, 10AM- 3:30PM
Participants: 9-16 participants
About the charity:
The DSPCA is a registered charity, established in 1840 to prevent cruelty to animals. They are Ireland’s largest and oldest animal welfare organisation. We exist uniquely to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome sick, injured and cruelly treated animals.
Volunteering activity:
The team will take part in a hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day care of animals across the shelter. Activities may include dog socialisation and walking, spending time with cats and kittens, assisting with small animal and equine care, and helping with general maintenance tasks across the site. Their support helps ensure a safe, enriching, and well-maintained environment for the animals.
