Kirkstall Valley Farm
Where: Behind Ready Steady Store, Kirkstall Road, LS4 2QD
Days: Monday, Wedsnday & Thursday
Times: 10 am - 4 pm, 10 am - 1 pm, 1.30 - 4 pm

About the charity:
Part of the Community Supported Agriculture network (CSA), this farm supplies weekly fresh veg to members of the local community through a Harvest Share Membership Scheme, supporting the maintenance of the land and offers opportunities for people to get involved and learn new skills. The farm is also used for various community events and activities throughout the year.
Volunteering activity:
Get outdoors and get hands-on, rain or shine! You’ll help with practical farm and horticulture tasks like weeding, planting, and harvesting. Most activities need a bit of fitness, but with a heads-up, adjustments can be made—perfect for making a tangible difference while enjoying fresh air and nature.

About the charity:
This organisation offers high quality fresh and store cupboard food for a low weekly membership fee. Much of the food is unwanted or surplus food, intercepted from being wasted.
Volunteering activity:
Lend a hand and make a real impact! From sorting and packing food to gardening, cleaning, or delivering, every task helps support more people in the community. Volunteers are at the heart of what we do, and your time and effort make a tangible difference every day.
St Gemma’s Hospice

Times: 8 am - 2.30 pm, 8 am - 1 pm
Participants: 2-10 participants
About the charity:
They provide care for people with a range of terminal illnesses, including cancer, heart failure, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease and provide bereavement support for those close to them.
Volunteering activity:
Spend a day outdoors helping our award-winning gardens shine! From weeding and planting to sweeping and clearing, every task keeps the space looking fabulous. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get gardening, it’s a hands-on, rewarding way to make a visible difference.

Volunteering activity:
Step into the St Gemma’s Bramley Retail Hub and see your impact in action! Volunteers help sort, tag, and hang donations, supporting 24 shops and the e-commerce team to raise crucial funds for patient care. A hands-on, fun day where teamwork makes every minute count.

Join one of our 26 charity shops across Leeds and get stuck in! Volunteers help sort, tag, and hang donations, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at shop operations. Perfect for smaller groups, it’s a hands-on way to see the real difference your time makes in the community.
The Children's Book Project

About the charity:
The Children’s Book Project is a registered charity. We work with settings across the UK to redistribute thousands of new and gently used books to children and their families.
Volunteering activity:
Get hands-on and social while helping children access books! Volunteers sort, categorise, and pack donations for schools, with tasks like standing, bending, and lifting boxes. Accommodations are available for seated roles, and safety briefings ensure everyone can take part comfortably while making a real difference for young readers.
Leeds South and East Foodbank
Where: Unit 18, Millshaw Park Avenue, Millshaw Park Industrial Estate, Leeds LS11 0LR
Days: Thusday
Times: 10 am - 2.30 pm

About the charity:
We don’t think anyone in Leeds should have to face going hungry. That’s why our ten food bank sites provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Volunteering activity:
Start with a quick induction, then dive into warehouse life! Volunteers help sort donations, date mark stock, pick orders, and tackle general duties—keeping operations running smoothly and ensuring goods get to those who need them most. A hands-on day with clear impact.
Cards for Bravery
Where: In Office
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: 2 hour session
Participants: unlimited participants
About the charity:
Cards for Bravery is a charity dedicated to brightening the days of hospitalised and seriously ill children mainly through the distribution of handmade cards. This makes a huge difference to these children through their most tough and isolating times.
Volunteering activity:
Bring the team together for a creative, feel-good session! You’ll make cards for seriously ill children, with all materials provided by OnHand. Each card is sent to Cards for Bravery, spreading joy and encouragement to young patients in hospitals across the UK—right from your office.
